Dungeon types
Learn about crypts, catacombs, bastions and caves, then browse example locations. Dungeon conditions and contract objectives are described separately.
| Type | Overview |
|---|---|
| Crypt | Crypts are a dungeon type in Aldor. Their official background connects them with the burial traditions of the Order of the Triune Hand: once guarded, many were abandoned after the Order dissolved. When looking up a crypt, check its current dungeon condition and contract objective as well as its name. |
| Catacombs | Catacombs are a dungeon type associated with Aldor's ruined religious buildings. The official background describes monasteries, abbeys and chapels, and the fear these places now inspire. Locations share type rules, while their map positions and current conditions must be checked individually. |
| Bastion | Bastions are a dungeon type based on military strongholds. Their official background describes a change from garrisons protecting settlements to bases used by brigands and deserters. This article brings together map examples, possible dungeon conditions and the distinction between a location and its contract objective. |
| Cave | Caves are a world-map category for Aldor's underground caverns and passages. They have a distinct dungeon type and initialization handling. To find a particular cave, use its location name and the map in your own save. Below are the recorded map examples and the difference between caves and the other three types in random condition selection. |
