A "Fee" for the Official
A "Fee" for the Official is the workshop-access quest offered by Keremit Lawe in Brynn. Bring a recommendation, pay 500 crowns, then speak to him again indoors to complete the quest and use its trading dialogue.

Starting and preparing
01 Speak to the official with a recommendation
Find Keremit Lawe in Brynn (Guild Quarter). Meet him outside and finish the introductory conversation, then use the Recommendation Letter to discuss access to the workshop. The letter is a dialogue requirement; the payment action does not consume it.
Continue responding after hearing his terms to start the quest. If you lacked the letter on your first visit, bring it back and return to this request through his dialogue options. If a separate conversation about recruiting an artisan takes priority, address that topic before asking about access.

Once the quest has started, have at least 500 crowns and return to the same official. The payment option requires an active quest and enough gold. This is a fee you pay, not a reward you receive.

Payment and completion
03 Pay and advance the objective
The payment dialogue deducts 500 crowns and advances the next objective. This action does not itself mark the entire quest complete or establish access to ordinary trading on the street.

Find Keremit Lawe inside the workshop and interact with him again. With the payment objective advanced and the official off the street scene, this interaction advances the final objective and completes the quest. Merely entering the room is insufficient. If you paid indoors, end the dialogue and speak to him again.
After completion, choose the trade option while speaking to him indoors. Whether you can reach and talk to him still depends on his actual location and interaction state; this quest does not guarantee round-the-clock trading.

The ordinary trade entry and the quest dialogue’s trade option use different checks. Ordinary access also depends on the character’s period and state; the quest-specific option requires completion and that the official is off the street scene, without the same time restrictions as the ordinary entry. If an entry is missing, speak to him inside the workshop to check the available options.

Official quest description
After reading Bern's recommendation letter, Keremit Lawe, the Guild's bailiff at the leatherworks, no longer opposes the idea of selling me an occasional item.##There's one condition though: I'll first have to pay him a "fee" of five hundred crowns.
