Stolen goods and buying thresholds

Same-release trading profiles fix two buying boundaries: every documented merchant refuses stolen goods, and each person sets a durability threshold (mostly 50%, with a few at 25% or 100%). This page summarises the rules and records what remains unverified.

Buying rules

Every merchant profile records three buying rules: stolen goods acceptance, durability threshold and buying tier. In the current same-release data all merchants are marked as refusing stolen goods, the buying tier is uniformly 0, and the durability threshold is mostly 50% with a few 25% or 100% entries.

Consequently, items marked as stolen cannot be sold through normal trading, and items below a person's durability threshold may also be unsellable. The trading UI judgement at the moment applies.

Threshold outliers

The table lists the verified persons whose durability threshold differs from 50% (and their settlements); the remaining merchants share the common value and are not listed individually.

Relation to crime state

Crime state also affects other systems: it is one of the sleep-check blockers and can affect some dialogue services (see rest and saving). The marking source of stolen goods, searches and fine flows are not closed in the site's verified data.

Unverified details

How items become marked as stolen, whether other disposal paths exist, and the full search and fine flows are not yet closed in the same-release data and are not asserted here (documented gap).
