How to start

This is the new-save prologue tutorial. It starts in the dungeon cell and is not accepted from a settlement.

Walkthrough

01 Start in the cell

Open the inventory, remove the shackles, inspect the cell and Locke's body, and take the items.

02 Leave the cell

Deal with hunger and thirst, leave the cell, pick the lock, find the exit, and kill the guard.

03 Handle the hallway and injury

Examine the hallway, disarm the trap, search the stockroom, then use the health tab to stabilize the injury, apply salve, address pain and toxicity, and rest.

04 Learn the spell

Open the gates and continue, pick up and read the treatise, and learn Fire Barrage.

05 Cross the chapel

Move to the next room, search the shelves, find the transition, explore the chapel, destroy the statues, and kill the Archon.

Pick up the Stoneshard and talk with your companions to finish the prologue dungeon tutorial.

Branches

The same-release definition is a fixed tutorial chain with no mutually exclusive choice. Lockpicking, trap, and medicine steps advance in journal order; failure or a temporary retreat does not create another reward route.

Rewards and consequences

Completion teaches the core inventory, lockpicking, trap, treatment, resting, and spell-learning actions and leads into the prologue regrouping. The quest definition has no separate gold or item reward action. Use the related mechanic articles below to review a specific system.
