Starting and preparing
01 Ask Odar about the cart
After the contract stage of caravan preparations, speak with Odar in Osbrook. He claims brigands have seized the brewery and asks you to deal with them in exchange for a cart. Accepting starts this quest.
To investigate and preserve the brewery, ask about Odar’s relationship with the carpenter and the brewery details, then speak with Jurg. If you already cleared the brewery before starting the quest, Odar also has a retroactive dialogue leading to the standard reward.
↑ Voltar ao fluxoPeople involved
| Person | Role in this quest |
|---|---|
| Odar | Quest acceptance, clearing rewards and confrontation |
| Jurg | Information required for peaceful negotiation |
| Kromm | Brewery negotiation and the farm request and reward |
| Verren | Peaceful-route conclusion at the Osbrook tavern |
Route A: standard clearing
A1 Attack the brewery
Travel to the Oaken Barrel Brewery. You can choose to attack during the entrance conversation or directly damage its personnel. Hostile action turns the brewery’s people against you and ruins the brewer route, discarding its active farm quest.
↑ Voltar ao fluxoA2 Clear the brewery and report to Odar
After all brewery personnel have been cleared, return to Odar. The standard route gives 300 crowns, Brandy and a Silver Ring, with Osbrook reputation and miller pricing changes detailed below.
The quest completes, Osbrook takes over the brewery, the cart appears in Osbrook, and caravan preparations continue. If you previously agreed to the higher-priced clearing deal after exposing Odar, the report uses that reward branch instead of adding the standard reward.
↑ Voltar ao fluxoRoute B: preserve the brewery
B1 Obtain Jurg’s information first
Peaceful negotiation requires Jurg’s brewery information. After the relevant questions with Odar and the carpenter, you can pay 100 crowns or return the plane through the corresponding dialogue. These are alternatives; certain already-completed handover conversations also let you proceed directly to the information.
Exchanging the plane removes it and completes Forgotten Plane without also granting that quest’s standard reward. Without the information, the peaceful inquiry at the brewery entrance is unavailable.
↑ Voltar ao fluxoB2 Negotiate with Kromm
Use the information-based inquiry at the brewery entrance and continue until Kromm joins the conversation. He explains that he hired these mercenaries to resist Odar’s extortion and asks you to deal with Odar’s thugs. Accepting opens Odar's Thugs, whose target is the Lone Farmstead.
Avoid attacking brewery personnel on this route. Later choices can still turn the situation violent; choosing them does not preserve all peaceful-route rewards.
↑ Voltar ao fluxoB3 Deal with the thugs and confront Odar
After accepting Kromm’s request, clear the brigands from the Lone Farmstead and report to him at the brewery while the brewer route remains intact. This completes the farm quest, grants Barrel of Beer and enables later trading. Brewery-local reputation below 5000 is raised to that value.
After hearing Kromm’s account, return to Osbrook to confront Odar. To preserve the brewery, demand that he leave Kromm alone, or accept 500 crowns for silence while refusing to clear it. Reputation costs and Kromm’s additional reward differ as shown below. You may confront Odar before or after clearing the farm, but both required conversations must be finished before reporting to Verren.
↑ Voltar ao fluxoB4 Tell Verren about the cart
Find Verren at the Osbrook tavern and finish the brewery-cart conversation. This completes the quest, moves the next Verren objective to the brewery, places the cart there, and unlocks the associated achievement. The brewery remains with its owners.
Kromm’s dialogue mentions preparing the cart, but the verified completion action sets no multi-day waiting timer. If the quest has not advanced, check the Kromm reward and Odar confrontation conversations before simply waiting.
↑ Voltar ao fluxoRoute C: clearing after exposing Odar
C1 Expose Odar, then agree to clear the brewery
After learning the truth and confronting Odar, you can demand 1000 crowns and agree to clear the brewery anyway. If it has not yet been cleared, this first costs reputation and ruins the peaceful route; the 1000 crowns are not paid immediately.
↑ Voltar ao fluxoC2 Collect the higher reward after clearing
Report after clearing the brewery to receive 1000 crowns and complete the quest. This branch does not include the standard Brandy, Silver Ring, positive reputation reward or miller pricing change. If you already cleared the brewery after discovering the truth, demanding the higher payment from Odar can lead directly to this ending.
↑ Voltar ao fluxoChoices, rewards and consequences
Each row describes its own action; mutually exclusive choices do not stack. Positive reputation inputs are multiplied by the character’s reputation-gain modifier and rounded. In normal map conditions, negative inputs do not receive that positive-gain multiplier. Kromm’s extra reward requires Odar to have agreed to leave the brewery alone; taking Odar’s silence payment does not also satisfy that condition.
| Conversation or action | Immediate reward | Reputation | Quest state |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard clearing, report to Odar | 300 crowns, Brandy, Silver Ring | Osbrook: base input +500 | Completes this quest |
| Accept Odar’s silence payment and refuse to clear | 500 crowns | Osbrook: base input -400 | Further steps remain |
| Collect higher payment after clearing | 1000 crowns | No reputation change in this action | Completes this quest |
| Demand that Odar leave the brewery alone | No item or gold reward | Osbrook: base input -600 | Further steps remain |
| Agree to higher-priced clearing before clearing | No item or gold reward | Osbrook: base input -600 | Further steps remain |
| Reassure Kromm after Odar agrees to leave him alone | 150 crowns | No reputation change in this action | Optional additional reward |
| Report the completed farm request to Kromm | Barrel of Beer | Brewery-local reputation raised to at least 5000 | Further steps remain |
| Tell Verren about the cart on the peaceful route | No item or gold reward | No reputation change in this action | Completes this quest |
Services and scene changes
Kromm’s farm reward enables trading and writes a -0.1 quest term to his selling-price multiplier. The additional reward writes -0.15 for selling and +0.05 for buying. Initialization of a later Kromm instance overwrites the selling term back to -0.1; that same path does not rewrite the buying term. These are additions to the respective multipliers, not uniform discounts applied again to every final quote.
Only the standard clearing reward writes a -0.1 selling-price quest term for the Osbrook miller; higher-priced clearing does not. The takeover ending removes Kromm and assigns Osbrook ownership and justice settings to the brewery. The peaceful ending retains the brewers. Its ending dialogue requests a brewery-faction crime reset, but that function still requires the current tile to have an owner whose location has crime processing enabled.
Related places and map
The route connects Osbrook, the Oaken Barrel Brewery, and the Lone Farmstead from the farm request. Follow your own save’s journal and map; this site shows sample positions, not coordinates shared by every save. The takeover ending places the cart in Osbrook; the peaceful ending places it at the brewery.
The brewery’s fate
Odar initially describes the brewery’s mercenaries as brigands; Kromm explains that he hired them to resist extortion. Your choices determine whether Osbrook takes over. The official takeover description says Osbrook’s guards protect the brewery again, while production still needs to recover. The peaceful description says Odar’s scheme was exposed and the brewery remains in its rightful owners’ hands.
